Ukrainian border guards are recording instances of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups infiltrating along the border with Russia. Most of these incidents are occurring in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a national telethon.
According to him, the defenders of Ukraine are thwarting the actions of Russian saboteurs. However, when comparing 2023 to the beginning of 2024, a decrease in enemy sabotage and reconnaissance activities at the border is currently being observed.
"At the same time, the enemy has not completely abandoned these efforts. We continue to record the highest number of such incidents in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions," said Demchenko.
The spokesperson noted that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are attempting to uncover the locations of Ukrainian military personnel and are also laying mines in the area. To eliminate and detect these groups, border guards are utilizing drones.
Recall that earlier Demchenko mentioned that at the end of last year, Russian occupiers were trying to expand their influence in the Kharkiv region. Despite this, there has been a gradual decrease in the activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups there.
