A scandal has erupted in Dnipro regarding the installation of shelters for stray dogs on Kalinova Street. The initiative, seemingly noble—providing animals with protection from the elements, especially given the harsh winter conditions—has sparked outrage among the parents of children attending a nearby kindergarten. This was reported by MP Serhiy Pustovoy, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

The issue lies in the fact that the habitat for stray animals was decided to be set up right under the fence of the preschool facility, raising concerns about the safety of the children.

Real battles have erupted online regarding the situation—while some users expressed gratitude for the compassion shown towards animals, others sharply criticized the choice of location for the shelters. The outrage from residents stems not so much from the mere presence of the dog houses, but from their close proximity to the kindergarten.

Many parents fear that stray dogs, even if they are in a shelter, could pose a threat to children. Concerns have been voiced regarding the potential aggression of the animals, with examples cited of attacks by stray animals on people in the city.

Although there have been no official complaints about aggressive behavior from the dogs or discomfort related to having such a location near small children, the city authorities promise to respond to the situation.
