Intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy has an advantage in manpower there.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on his Facebook.
"We have to make unconventional decisions to enhance the resilience of our defense and more effectively eliminate the occupiers. The fighting is exceptionally fierce. Russian invaders are committing all available forces in an attempt to break through our troops' defenses," Syrskyi explained.
According to him, Ukrainian soldiers are demonstrating extraordinary resilience and inflicting significant losses on the enemy near Pokrovsk. He emphasized that under such conditions, the main task is to bolster defense, particularly by ensuring that units have a sufficient supply of ammunition and a constant flow of resupplies.
"I listened to the information about the existing problems and gave the corresponding orders. I am grateful to the soldiers for their courage and resilience in the fight against the enemy," the commander-in-chief highlighted.
The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the hottest spots on the front. Russian troops are located approximately 11 km from the city, prompting local authorities to urge residents to evacuate.
Nazar Voloshin, a representative of the "Khortytsia" group, reported that more than 70,000 Russian soldiers are concentrated in this direction. President Zelensky previously stated that additional reinforcements are being sent to strengthen defense in this area.
At the same time, media sources believe that Russian troops are preparing to launch an offensive on Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. This operation could be the culmination of the Russian offensive in this direction.
