Igor Kravchenko, a resident of Kamensky, has won two medals at the World Ice Swimming Championship, reports "Vidomo" citing "Prystalnyy Vhyad".
The championship is taking place in the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige, in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. Athletes are competing in an open 50-meter pool located just steps away from Lake Molveno.
Over five days, more than 750 swimmers from 37 countries are competing in distances ranging from 50 to 1000 meters in water temperatures around zero degrees. The events include freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, and backstroke, held across various age categories.
Ukraine is represented by a single athlete at the championship – swimmer Igor Kravchenko from Kamensky, competing in the 65-69 age group. According to our compatriot, on the first day he secured third place in the 50m backstroke with a time of 45.22. On January 16, Igor finished second in the 50-meter butterfly event (42.39).
