Trump is not seeking temporary solutions like a ceasefire but aims for a complete resolution of the conflict, reports Politeka.net.
This was stated by Marco Rubio.
"He wants the war to end. He is not just looking for a pause; he wants it to be over, and that will be difficult, and it needs to happen in stages," noted the U.S. Secretary of State.
According to him, this was expressed by Trump during negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported by Politeka.
Rubio provided a general plan for ending the war, which may include initial stages through a ceasefire. However, he emphasized that there are currently no specific agreements or negotiations on this matter. He also pointed out that the next step could involve opening humanitarian corridors and establishing agreements to protect energy infrastructure from shelling, as stated by Politeka.
"We'll see how it works out," added the Secretary of State.
Rubio stressed that Trump is the only leader capable of garnering international support for the implementation of this plan and noted that ending the war will require global efforts. He highlighted the importance of Europe's involvement in providing long-term security guarantees for Ukraine, while the U.S., according to him, will be interested in Ukraine's independence in the future.
