According to Bloomberg, sources who wished to remain anonymous reported that the proposal will involve a freeze of the conflict, leaving the territories occupied by Russia in an indefinite state. At the same time, certain security guarantees will be provided for Ukraine to ensure that Russia cannot launch another attack.
"The elements include a potential freeze of the conflict and leaving the territories occupied by Russian troops in an uncertain state, while also providing Ukraine with security guarantees to ensure that Moscow cannot attack again," the publication states.
It is worth noting that Ukraine's primary goal remains NATO membership; however, as President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged, this step is unlikely in the short term. Zelensky also expressed readiness for elections after the war, which will only be possible after the lifting of martial law.
In turn, Ukrainian President's advisor Andriy Yermak held a meeting with U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. It is important to note that Russia is also showing signs of rapprochement with the U.S., which opens new opportunities for negotiations.
