More than half of the citizens of France – 54% – are calling for Macron's resignation.
This is indicated by a survey conducted for Le Point by Cluster17. The political situation in the country is intensifying, and many believe that the president should leave his position early. The French are demanding that presidential elections be held as early as 2025.
However, Macron himself has no intention of resigning and stated that he will remain in office until the end of his second presidential term, which concludes in 2027. Many oppose this decision.
"It is important to understand that the French are positioning themselves not only against Emmanuel Macron but also within a broader context of relations with institutions: moderate voters want stability, even if they do not necessarily support the president," explains analyst Stéphane Fournier.
The publication also reminded that far-right leader Marine Le Pen has stated that Macron is responsible for the French government resigning. She also emphasized that the decision for his resignation should be made by the president himself.
