Trump's campaign was largely built on a rhetoric of revenge, and experts believe that winning the election will provide him with an opportunity to implement his "list of punishments."
According to Politico, among Trump's potential targets are current U.S. President Joe Biden, whom he has repeatedly accused of corruption, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he believes is facilitating illegal immigration. Former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are also on Trump's list, against whom he has already publicly leveled accusations of treason and corruption as far back as 2016.
Other individuals Trump threatens with legal action include Democratic Party representatives involved in investigating his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Specifically, this includes former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Representative Liz Cheney. Additionally, Trump is actively targeting judges, prosecutors, and officials who have dealt with his legal cases, particularly New York Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron, who have presided over Trump Organization fraud cases.
Journalists may also fall victim to Trump's attacks. He has accused the media of spreading falsehoods and called for severe measures against those who refuse to disclose their sources. The list also includes intelligence officials involved in investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 elections. One of Trump's primary targets of criticism is former FBI Director James Comey, whom he seeks to hold accountable for "leaking information."
Analysts note that after the elections, Trump may initiate processes aimed at increasing control over the courts and the U.S. legal system to have more leverage for carrying out his threats.
