In the educational and scientific complex "Aquarium," owned by the Oleksii Honchar National University, a crocodile is reportedly kept in terrible conditions. This is mentioned in a publication on the Facebook page of the animal protection organization UAnimals, as reported by "Vidomo".

According to the animal rights activists, the creature is housed in a small enclosure with almost no water.

Representatives of UAnimals have contacted the police, requesting an inspection of the conditions in which the animals are kept and the availability of the necessary permits.

"If the university lacks the required permits for keeping wild animals, it will be held accountable under Article 88-1 of the Administrative Code: a fine ranging from 510 to 1700 hryvnias.

Violating the rules for keeping wild animals in captivity can result in a fine of up to 850 hryvnias, with or without confiscation of the animal," the statement reads.

Animal rights activists emphasized that they will demand accountability for those responsible and ensure that the animal is provided with proper living conditions.
