Today, January 14, it will be cold in Ukraine. However, there is no need to expect frosts of -20 degrees.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the forecast from meteorologist Natalka Didenko.
"From the nearest meteorological perspective, the coldest night has already occurred on Tuesday, January 14. During the day on January 14, temperatures in Ukraine are expected to range from -2 to +2 degrees," the meteorologist explained.
At the same time, there will be no precipitation across the board. The wind will be from the west, moderate, with gusts in the north.
In Kyiv, no precipitation is expected on January 14, with daytime temperatures around 0....-2 degrees.
In the following days, nighttime temperatures will rise slightly, while daytime temperatures will remain relatively stable, around 0. From January 19, daytime temperatures will warm up to +3....+7 degrees.
The weather in the first decade of January 2025 was influenced by a series of warm atmospheric fronts. Abnormally high temperatures were observed compared to the norm (both average and maximum).
These temperatures corresponded to the climatic norm of mid-March. The high-temperature background persisted throughout the decade.
As the atmospheric fronts moved across Ukraine, they caused only minor precipitation in the form of snow, wet snow, rain, and drizzle over most of the territory.
The snow cover was unstable and quickly deteriorated under the influence of positive air temperatures.
As reported, overall, the weather in January 2025 in Ukraine will be warmer than usual.
