Tibet earthquake: the death toll has nearly doubled.

The number of fatalities in Tibet due to today's earthquake has risen. There are also reports of 130 injured individuals.

As previously reported by Chinese media, at least 53 people have died and 62 were injured as a result of the earthquake.

As of now, according to state media, the death toll has increased to 95. Additionally, 130 people have sustained injuries.

Earthquake in Tibet

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 was recorded in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Its epicenter was located 181 km north of the Indian city of Darjeeling and 87 kilometers northeast of Everest.

Rescue operations are currently ongoing, which may lead to an increase in the number of known casualties and injured. As reported by the media in the morning, around 1,500 rescuers and firefighters are involved in the operation.

Significant damage has also been reported as a result of the earthquake.
