Zelensky has tasked officials with making medication prices more affordable for Ukrainians.

The prices of medications in some pharmacies are excessively high. The government will develop a solution to this issue.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the evening address of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, the National Security and Defense Council meeting will discuss new matters. In particular, it is necessary to enhance the financial resilience of every Ukrainian family.

"This largely concerns pricing issues, especially for essential items like medications. What some pharmacy chains are doing with prices is absolutely unacceptable," the president specified.

He emphasized that the responsibility for medication prices lies with the government, specifically with Health Minister Viktor Lyashko and the Antimonopoly Committee.

The president mentioned that he held a meeting with the minister and representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee. As Zelensky noted, he is "tired of waiting for appropriate proposals."

"There is little time. Everything that needs to be done is quite clear. We need concrete steps and specific solutions that will make healthcare protection more accessible for our people. If there are no solutions for the affordability of medications, there will be personnel decisions," the head of state added.

Let us remind you that it was previously reported that medication prices in Ukraine continued to rise in 2024, but this occurred at a much slower pace than in 2023.
