U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he spoke with King Abdullah II of Jordan. They discussed a potential plan to build housing and relocate over 1 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other countries.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing CNN.

Trump indicated that he asked the king to accept a greater number of Palestinians in his country.

"I told him that I would like you to take on more, because I look at the entire Gaza Strip now, and it is a real mess," he told reporters.

The U.S. President added that he would like both Jordan and Egypt to accommodate people, and that on Sunday, January 26, he would discuss this with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

"You are talking about one and a half million people, and we will just clear all of this (relocate people - ed.)," Trump stated.

He emphasized that the potential housing could be either temporary or long-term.

Previously, Israel and Hamas, with the involvement of mediators, reached an agreement to cease fire in the Gaza Strip and to release Israeli hostages.
