As of today, approximately 300 soldiers of the North Korean military contingent have died in the Kursk region. This is an increase of 200 soldiers compared to the figures recorded in December.

According to estimates from the National Intelligence Service of the Republic of Korea, the total losses of North Korean troops in the region currently stand at around 3,000, of which 300 have died and 2,700 have been wounded.
At the end of December, South Korean intelligence reported losses of 100 killed and about 1,000 wounded North Korean soldiers.
On Saturday, January 11, Ukrainian forces captured two soldiers from the North Korean army for the first time.
This information was later confirmed by South Korean intelligence. According to the captives, North Korean troops are suffering "significant" losses in the Kursk region.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published photographs of the captured North Korean soldiers. He is willing to hand over the soldiers to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, but under one condition.
Previously, Zelensky stated that around 4,000 North Korean soldiers had died in battles against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
