В Лас-Вегасе произошел взрыв Cybertruck: полиция нашла канистры с топливом и фейерверки.

On Wednesday, a Cybertruck exploded near the entrance of the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to seven others. Police found fuel canisters and fireworks in the pickup.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Axios and Associated Press.

During a briefing, Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated that "fuel canisters and large fireworks mortars" (pyrotechnics) were discovered in the back of the truck.

He also mentioned that authorities are aware of who rented the truck using the Turo app in Colorado. However, they will not disclose the name until it is determined whether this was the same person who died.

According to the sheriff, a video provided by CEO Elon Musk, recorded at Tesla charging stations, helped authorities trace the vehicle's route. It arrived in Las Vegas around 7:30 AM and then entered the parking area of the Trump International Hotel about an hour later, where it remained for 15-20 seconds before the explosion.

The video shown at the press conference earlier in the day displayed a pile of charred fireworks mortars, canisters, and other explosive devices dumped in the pickup's bed. The walls of the truck bed remained intact, as the explosion traveled upward rather than sideways.

Earlier, Musk stated on social media platform X that "the explosion was caused by a very powerful firework or bomb being transported in the bed of the rented Cybertruck," and it was not related to the vehicle itself.

U.S. President Joe Biden, speaking in a televised address on Wednesday evening, stated that law enforcement officials are investigating whether there is any possible connection between the Cybertruck explosion and a vehicle ramming incident in New Orleans that resulted in at least 15 deaths.

It is worth noting that Elon Musk stated that the explosion of the pickup truck produced by his company could be a terrorist act.

He also suggested that the incident might be related to the situation in New Orleans. The billionaire reported that in both cases, the vehicles were rented from Turo - a platform that allows car owners to rent out their vehicles.
