По словам Рубио, война России с Украиной не закончится, пока одна из сторон не достигнет всех своих целей.

Neither Ukraine nor Russia will likely be able to achieve their "maximalist goals" as a result of the war. Achieving peace will require significant effort.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing an interview with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio for journalist Megyn Kelly.

Rubio emphasized that both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin have their own internal interests.

"If you imagine being Ukrainian, and the Russians have made you suffer so much, would you then allow them to keep the land (under their control - ed.)? I mean, people in Ukraine would be upset about this, you would understand that," the Secretary of State added.

However, he stated that there are also mature realities of life. These indicate that both sides are paying a heavy price for the war and both sides are interested in ending this conflict.

"This (the war - ed.) will not end with the maximalist goals of one side, and a lot of hard work will need to be done. And I believe that only the United States under President Trump (Donald Trump - ed.) can make this possible, but it will not be easy, and it will take some time. But I know he is determined to achieve this," Rubio emphasized.

Trump Can End the War

Recall that earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that U.S. President Donald Trump could end Russia's war against Ukraine faster than anyone else in the world.

According to the head of the Ukrainian state, this is because Trump has considerable influence over Russia.

Additionally, Trump previously threatened to impose new tariffs, duties, and sanctions against Russia if Moscow was unwilling to negotiate an agreement to end the war.
