The Verkhovna Rada has prohibited the bankruptcy of "Yuzhmash" and lifted the freeze on its funds and assets.

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted as a basis the draft law "On Amendments to the Law on Enforcement Proceedings regarding State Support and Economic Recovery of the Rocket and Space Industry under Martial Law." This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

The draft law proposes to halt enforcement actions and the compulsory execution of decisions for which the debtor is the state enterprise "Production Association South Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov" during the period of martial law, as well as to lift the seizures imposed on the funds and property of this enterprise.

"This will prevent a reduction in the volume of orders for civilian rocket and space products, accelerate the recovery of production volumes, and the launch of new production facilities. It will also increase the revenue to the state budget from the enterprise's economic activities," the explanatory note states.

It should be noted that the debts of the enterprise have been ongoing for several years. In 2020, it was reported that "Yuzhmash" owed the state more than 2 billion UAH, and 300 million UAH in unpaid salaries. Funds were allocated from the budget to settle this debt.
