Ukraine has responded to the re-election of Johnson as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Today in the USA, Mike Johnson was re-elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Ukraine is counting on the continuation of fruitful cooperation.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Facebook of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

Stefanchuk congratulated Johnson on his re-election as Speaker of the House of Representatives of the 119th Congress.

"I am pleased to continue our fruitful cooperation, which is underpinned by sincere respect and friendship," he added.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed confidence that successful collaboration for the benefit of both countries, along with coordinated, bold, and responsible actions, will help restore the long-awaited just peace in Ukraine.

Recall that today there was a vote in the USA for the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Full support from the Republicans was critically important for Johnson's candidacy. He had only one vote to spare that could have been lost during the voting process.

Initially, Johnson's candidacy was supported by only 216 members of the House of Representatives. Three Republicans voted for other candidates, and five more abstained from voting. However, Johnson had time and the opportunity to persuade them to change their votes, which he took advantage of.

As a result of the voting, Johnson received 218 necessary votes from congress members to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the USA.
