On the morning of February 20, an air alert began spreading across Ukraine due to missile threats. In particular, there was a risk of cruise missile launches, and fast-moving targets were detected in the country’s airspace.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the channel of the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

It is noteworthy that during the night, monitoring channels reported the takeoff of 4 Russian strategic bombers Tu-95MS from the "Olenya" airfield. There will be no official confirmations, but starting from 06:13, military personnel recorded fast-moving targets in the Kharkiv region. Fedorov warned about cruise missiles.

"ATTENTION! There is a threat of cruise missiles in the Zaporizhzhia region and other areas of Ukraine where an air alert has been declared," he wrote.

By 06:21, it became known that a group of missiles was detected in the Kharkiv region. They are moving in a southeast direction.

In the western regions, air alerts began to be lifted. Specifically, in Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Rivne regions.

Where alerts have been declared

As of 06:25, an air alert has been declared almost throughout the country. Currently, it is only absent in Kyiv, as well as in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions.

We remind you that during the night, an alert was also declared in nearly half of the country. Around 00:31, explosion sounds were heard in Kharkiv. They were likely outside the city.

At that time, the head of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that there was a threat of ballistic missile use from the northeast. A little earlier, fast-moving targets were detected from the south, specifically in the Mykolaiv region. Monitoring channels indicated that these could possibly be "Kalibr" cruise missiles launched by the enemy from the Black Sea.
