The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, announced that 86.82% of voters cast their votes for the self-proclaimed head of state, Alexander Lukashenko, in the so-called "elections." According to him, this is preliminary information.

The final press conference of the CEC on "Preliminary Results of the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Belarus" will be held today, January 27, at 11:00.
It is worth noting that on January 26, "presidential elections" took place in Belarus, marking the seventh for Lukashenko during his political career. He has been in power for over 30 years now.
Meanwhile, the EU has reacted to the "elections," calling them fictitious.
"Today's fictitious elections in Belarus were neither free nor fair. The people of Belarus deserve a real say in who governs their country," stated EU foreign policy chief, Kaia Kallas.
Lukashenko himself claimed that he allegedly did not want to run for election, but was persuaded to do so. According to the Belarusian dictator, there is no replacement for him.
