The head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, has already rejected the "peace proposals" from the team of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, despite the fact that no official initiatives have even been received from the U.S.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing ТАСС.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov apparently took the time to analyze the "numerous leaks" and Donald Trump's interview with "Time" magazine from December 12.
He concluded that Trump allegedly speaks of a "cessation of hostilities along the frontline" and "shifting further responsibility for opposing Russia to the Europeans."
"We, of course, are not satisfied with the proposals made on behalf of the elected president's team to postpone Ukraine's NATO membership for 20 years, as well as to introduce a peacekeeping contingent into Ukraine," he stated.
At the same time, Lavrov admitted that Moscow has not yet received any official signals from the U.S. regarding the war in Ukraine.
"Until January 20 - the date of the inauguration - Donald Trump holds the status of 'elected president,' while all policies across all fronts are determined by the sitting president, Joseph Biden, and his administration. Only the latter is authorized to communicate with Russia on behalf of the U.S.," he added.
Furthermore, the Russian Foreign Minister did not forget to remind that Russia is allegedly open to negotiations regarding Ukraine, but "the agreement must be unbreakable."
Newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly made statements about the war in Ukraine. In particular, he has assured that he wants to see it resolved quickly. Specifically, Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine within the first 24 hours of his presidency.
However, it is currently known that Trump's plan for ending the war in Ukraine is still being formulated, and the theses published in the media do not represent the official position of the Trump administration.
Therefore, Lavrov's statements appear at least strange, considering that Putin has not even seen an official document outlining Trump's actual vision for ending the war in Ukraine, yet they have already dismissed it.
