In the city of Samara (formerly Novomoskovsk), utility workers have begun painting manhole covers red. This was reported by "Vidomo".
Specifically, 22 hydrant manholes have been painted on Palankova, Hetmanska, Bolshaya Kovalevka, Volonterska, and Boris Johnson streets.
According to the utility workers, the bright red color makes the hydrants more visible, which is particularly important in emergencies.
Manholes of this color are expected to significantly aid firefighters in locating a water source, as every second counts during a fire response.
