The situation with electricity supply in Nikopol and the surrounding area of Dnipropetrovsk region, especially in the context of the ongoing war, raises many questions among local residents. One of the most pressing issues is the lack of public power outage schedules that were previously available. DTEK Dnipro Electric Networks officially announced that they will no longer provide such schedules, citing safety concerns. This information was reported by "Vidomo," referencing Nikopolnews.
A request for clarification from DTEK regarding the absence of the usual outage schedules, which were due to both planned maintenance work and the consequences of military actions, resulted in a clear response: the official publication of schedules has been discontinued. This marks a significant change compared to the situation before February 24, 2022, when electricity outage schedules were publicly accessible and posted on the company's website. Now, such information is not officially provided in any public sources.
"Since 2022, the Ministry of Energy has issued a directive regarding the limitation of information. Registration is to be conducted through address-based notifications – a chat-bot," DTEK stated in their response.
Instead of the usual publicly available schedules, DTEK is offering an alternative method of informing the residents of Nikopol and the surrounding area — through a chat-bot. This address-based notification system allows users to receive personalized alerts about power outages based on the provided address. According to the company, this approach offers a more accurate and secure means of communication, eliminating the possibility of using information about planned and emergency outages for undesirable purposes.
Registration in the address-based notification system via the chat-bot is a mandatory condition for receiving information about potential outages.
This is a necessary measure aimed at enhancing safety and improving communication between the energy company and consumers. The registration process is generally straightforward and user-friendly.
