In the Lozovatska community of the Kryvyi Rih district, the water tariff has significantly increased since January, as reported by "Vidomo" citing the Facebook community "Lozovatska Hromada".

Indignant residents of Mariyanivka wrote to the chairman of the Lozovatska OTG and received a response stating that the utility company "Krivbassvodokanal" has raised the centralized water supply tariff for Lozovatske JCP by 18.00 UAH starting January, while the tariff was 13.764 UAH until January 2025. This means that the JCP purchases water from "Krivbassvodokanal" at 18 UAH per cubic meter and sells it to the population with a markup of 200% at a cost of 54.00 UAH.

The JCP explains this increase by the rising costs of electricity and purchased water.

The publication notes that all residents are well aware that in Velyke, which also belongs to the Lozovatska community, the water tariff is 16.00 UAH. In all districts of Kryvyi Rih, the tariff is 16.00 UAH (in private houses).

Local residents also mention Avangard, located near Mariyanivka, which also has a tariff of 16.00 UAH. Even residents of Petrovo in the neighboring OTG pay 21 UAH for water.

"This raises the question: why do we need such a housing office? That profits off our community with a 200% markup. Given that all residents know that the JCP does nothing for free for anyone, except in kindergartens and schools, and even then with budget funds, which means it’s not free either. It’s interesting why the deputies of the Lozovatsky village council are not reacting to this lawlessness?" — stated in the publication on the social media page.

Mariyanivka residents are urged to contact the relevant authorities to address this issue and bring it under control.
