On the evening of March 1st, an explosion was heard in Odessa. The military had warned of the threat of ballistic weapon use.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing Telegram from the city’s mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, and the channel of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the city mayor, the explosion was heard around 17:47. Shortly before that, an alert was declared in several regions of Ukraine, and the military informed about ballistic weaponry and warned of missile danger.
"There is a threat of ballistic weapon use from the south in the regions where an air alert has been declared," the message stated at 17:44.
The State Emergency Service reported the cancellation of the threat in the regions. However, enemy tactical aviation activity remains in the northeastern direction, and there is a threat of using aviation means of destruction in frontline areas.
Additionally, an all-clear has been declared in several regions.
As of 17:55, the air alert map looks as follows. As can be seen, the alert continues in the Odessa, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.
Recall that on the night of February 28 to March 1, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv. The city recorded 9 impacts, including on a medical facility in the central area.
Moreover, as a result of the enemy attack, residential buildings, gas stations, roads, shops, and other objects were damaged.
According to the latest information, 12 people were injured due to the Russian strikes and their aftermath, including two children.
