In Nikopol, dogs were seen gnawing on the body of their deceased owner (VIDEO).

A horrific incident occurred in Nikopol. A woman who owned a large number of dogs passed away, and her pets, starving, began to gnaw on their owner's corpse. This was reported on Facebook by Nikopol volunteer Elena Omelchenko Voshun, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

"The woman died and lay in her home with her dogs for several days. Out of hunger, the dogs started to gnaw on her body. We counted 10 dogs, although there may be more."

"Fortunately, there was at least one neighbor, as most others have left. They weren't afraid of the dogs that were lunging at them from all corners, defending their owner," the woman writes.

The body of the deceased resident of Nikopol was taken away by ambulance and police. The dogs were left alone. Their condition is poor: they are very thin, frightened, and not socialized. The volunteers now face the challenge of finding homes for and caring for the orphaned animals. In a location that is under constant bombardment by Russians, and from which many people have fled, leaving their pets behind, this is extremely difficult.

"They didn't know or see anyone other than their owner. The neighbors are very good and kind people, as they are currently feeding these 10 dogs. But I’m at a loss as to where to put them. There’s no space at all. And what about the puppies???" – complains Elena Omelchenko Voshun.
