The Ministry of Agrarian Policy identified the region in Ukraine with the highest land value.

Throughout 2024, Ukraine sold 106,669 plots of land covering a total area of 320,660 hectares. The average price per hectare was 46,678 hryvnias (approximately $1,163).

Throughout 2024, Ukraine sold 106,669 land plots covering a total area of 320,660 hectares. The average cost per hectare amounted to 46,678 hryvnias (1,163 dollars).

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, referencing the press service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

According to the ministry, the highest average prices were recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk (89,744 hryvnias), Lviv (71,390 hryvnias), and Poltava (66,232 hryvnias) regions.

The lowest average prices were found in Zaporizhia (33,981 hryvnias), Mykolaiv (34,033 hryvnias), and Sumy (34,936 hryvnias) regions.

The moratorium on the sale of agricultural land by its owners was lifted on July 1, 2021.

The total area of land affected by the moratorium was 17.5 million hectares. From July 1, 2021, to December 31, 2024, 604 thousand hectares (198,337 plots) were sold.

Since the moratorium was lifted, legal entities have purchased 25,157 plots (78,307 hectares) at an average price of 62,656 hryvnias (1,561 dollars) per hectare. Individuals acquired 81,512 plots (242,353 hectares) at an average price of 41,510 hryvnias (1,034 dollars) per hectare.

According to the ministry, the volume of land sold in 2024 exceeds that of the first 2.5 years following the lifting of the moratorium.

Recall that until January 1, 2024, only individuals could purchase land with a limit of up to 100 hectares. Starting January 1, 2024, the limits and the pool of buyers were expanded. The maximum size of a plot for purchase has been increased to 10,000 hectares, and both individuals and legal entities can now buy land.
