The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry sharply responded to Fico's remarks about "enemies."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to the recent controversial statements made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The ministry views these remarks as an attempt to shift the blame for political failures in Slovakia onto Ukraine.
МИД Украины резко отреагировал на слова Фицо о "врагах", подчеркнув, что подобные заявления недопустимы и не способствуют конструктивному диалогу.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to the recent high-profile statements made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The agency views these remarks as an attempt to shift the responsibility for his political failures onto Ukraine.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine referring to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In the comment from the foreign ministry, it is noted that against the backdrop of declining trust among the Slovak public and protests against his pro-Russian course, Fico "resorted to searching for enemies and found them in Ukraine."

"We regard these absurd statements as an attempt to deflect responsibility for his own failures in domestic politics onto foreign states and leaders. We advise him to look not abroad, but in the mirror," the statement reads.

The Ministry emphasized that the Ukrainian side has repeatedly warned about the dangers of the pro-Russian policies of the Slovak leadership.

"The result is evident: Robert Fico and certain parliamentary figures in Slovakia have been poisoned by Russian propaganda, have lost the ability to distinguish between black and white, and are now beginning to label the leaders of neighboring friendly democracies as 'enemies'," the agency noted.

The Ministry is also confident that such a stance and the policies of Robert Fico "are contrary to the choice of the Slovak people to be an integral part of the European community."

Pro-Russian Statements by Fico

On Tuesday, January 28, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico labeled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as an "enemy" due to the cessation of Russian gas transit to European countries.

In response, Zelensky pointed out that Fico has chosen Moscow over America and is not striving to maintain the independence and sovereignty of his country.

It is possible that the harsh statement from the Slovak Prime Minister is linked to the mass protests that have recently erupted in the country.

Earlier, Fico accused that Ukraine was allegedly involved in the protests.
