In Kryvyi Rih, the executive committee of the Saksahan district council has purchased over 600 kilograms of salted fatback with spices for schoolchildren and preschoolers. The district head, Vasyl Starovoyt, was unable to explain why children need a product that is not recommended by the Ministry of Health. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing "Svoi. Kryvyi Rih".
As journalists note, they did not receive a clear answer to their inquiry, and "the mystery of lard remains a mystery." It is worth mentioning that the response for the media was personally signed by Vasyl Starovoyt.
Experts' opinions regarding lard for children are unanimous: this product is heavy and fatty, which does not meet the norms of child nutrition. Additionally, lard is associated with adult food traditions, raising doubts about its appropriateness for schools.
