The number of victims has risen to two following the occupiers' attack on the Kyiv region on January 3. A young woman has died in the hospital.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement from the acting head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.
"Unfortunately, the young woman who was injured as a result of debris from a downed enemy target during yesterday's massive drone attack on the Kyiv region has died. The woman, born in 2002, sustained a stomach injury," he said.
According to Kalashnyk, doctors fought for her life for almost a full day, but the injury was extremely severe.
Russian forces launched 93 drones at Ukraine on the night of January 3. Air defense managed to shoot down only a third of them. Meanwhile, explosions were heard in Kyiv, and military personnel were actively intercepting drones in the Kyiv region.
It was later reported that four people were injured and one person died in the Kyiv region due to the Russian attack. The deceased, a truck driver, died on the spot. Additionally, drone debris fell on a residential building.
A woman was also injured in Kyiv due to the drone attack. Defense forces destroyed most of the enemy UAVs before they reached Kyiv, but debris was recorded falling in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytsia districts.
