Air quality in Kyiv is deteriorating, with the worst conditions reported on the left bank of the city.
This information comes from RBK-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
According to the KCSA, the decline in air quality is due to the accumulation of suspended particles, specifically dust. The lack of wind and the rise in atmospheric pressure particularly hinder the dispersion of pollutants.

The KCSA recommends:
The Ukrhydrometcenter explains that fog droplets capture and hold small solid and liquid particles, particularly PM2.5, which are produced during fuel combustion. In winter, when temperatures are low and humidity is high, fog accumulates more harmful substances than in warmer seasons.
Temperature inversion, where cold air at the surface cannot rise, contributes to the buildup of pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Under anti-cyclonic conditions, weak winds do not disperse pollutants, leading to their accumulation.
