Late in the evening on January 13, an air alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been detected in the airspace of Ukraine.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The air alert signal in Kyiv sounded at 23:07. According to our correspondent, explosions were heard at the border of the capital and Kyiv region prior to this, likely due to the operation of air defense.
It is also noted that as of 22:19, the military reported several groups of UAVs flying from the Chernihiv region toward Kyiv. Local channels are currently reporting that UAVs are already over the capital as of the latest updates.
Additionally, at 23:05, media reported that an explosion was heard in Sumy. The State Border Guard Service warned that KABs were heading toward the Sumy district.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine urged residents of Kyiv, Brovary, and Vyshhorod to stay in shelters due to the detection of Russian UAVs.
As of 23:14, the air alert is ongoing in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.
We remind you that on the night of January 13, Russian troops launched 110 Shahed-type UAVs and imitation drones across Ukraine. The air defense forces destroyed 78 of them, while 31 were lost in terms of location.
