Air defense systems are operational in Kyiv and the surrounding region as Russia launches drone attacks.

On the night of January 11, the sound of air defense systems was heard in the Kyiv region and specifically in Kyiv. Ukrainian defenders are intercepting Russian strike drones.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Kyiv regional military administration.

"Kyiv region! Movement of enemy drones has been detected! Air defense forces are active in the region," the message stated at 01:21.

The KOVA urged people not to take photographs or record the actions of Ukrainian defenders and to adhere to safety rules, particularly staying in shelters until the air raid alert has ended.

Shortly after, the newly appointed head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, informed that air defense is already engaged with enemy targets in Kyiv.

As of 01:34, the air raid alert continues in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.

We remind you that last night, Russia launched 72 drones against Ukraine, including both "Shaheds" and decoy drones. As of 9:00 AM on January 10, air defense forces destroyed 33 of them.
