Late in the evening on January 13, explosions were heard in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Air defense forces are engaged with enemy drones.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram from Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"Air defense forces are operating against enemy UAVs on the left bank of the capital. Stay in shelters," the message stated at 23:14.
At the same time, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine urged residents of the capital, as well as of Brovary and Vyshhorod, to remain in shelters.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that air defense forces are also active in the region.
"Kyiv region! UAVs have been detected in the airspace. Air defense forces are targeting them," the message said.
Ukrainians were urged to stay in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted. Additionally, they were advised to maintain information silence—do not document or post online the activities of Ukrainian defenders.
"Air defense forces are active in Obolon. Stay in shelters! The UAV attack on the capital continues," Klitschko reported.
At the same time, the Kyiv City Military Administration also confirmed that air defense is operational in the capital.
Klitschko stated that air defense continues to operate on the right bank of the capital. Currently, there are two enemy UAVs over Kyiv.
As of 23:21, the air raid alert continues in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.
We remind you that the Russians also attempted to attack the Kyiv region tonight. Air defense forces shot down enemy targets, there were no casualties, and no hits were recorded on residential or critical infrastructure.
However, debris from a UAV in one of the settlements in the region damaged 4 private houses, a dormitory, and a medical facility. This involved broken windows and slightly damaged facades. Additionally, 3 vehicles and emergency medical transport were also damaged.
