Explosions were heard in Kyiv amid ballistic threats, as air defense systems were activated.

This was reported by the correspondent of RBK-Ukraine and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Sergiy Popko.

The siren warning of enemy air attacks sounded in Kyiv and several regions in the east and north of the country around three o'clock in the morning.

The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of the threat posed by Russian occupiers using ballistic weapons during shelling.

"Kyiv - stay in shelters!" - the military stated.

The Kyiv City Military Administration announced the operation of air defense forces in the capital.

"The air alert continues! Air defense is operational in the capital. Stay in shelters until the alert is lifted!" - said Popko in a Telegram announcement.

It should be noted that an explosion was heard near the capital around 03:02. A few minutes later, another explosion was heard.

"Ballistic threat for the capital. Stay in shelters!" - wrote Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko in his Telegram channel.

The mayor confirmed the operation of air defense forces in the capital.

Updated: Alarm Lifted

Around 03:40 in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine, the threat of enemy air attacks was lifted.

The Air Forces announced the lifting of the ballistic threat at 03:41.

Night Air Attack

Earlier, it was reported that starting from the evening of December 30, the Russian occupiers launched strike drones against Ukraine for another air attack.

The enemy kamikaze drones entered the airspace of the country from both the northern and southern directions. An air alert was declared in several regions.

Additionally, enemy UAVs are still observed over several regions.

During the night of December 31, the Air Forces announced a missile threat. In particular, the movement of a high-speed target was recorded near Shostka.

It should be noted that on December 30, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalенко, explained whether Russia is preparing for new air attacks.
