In the first 24 hours of the new year, Russia lost 1,370 military personnel on the front lines. Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine deprived the occupiers of four tanks and 20 artillery systems.

As of the evening of January 1, there have been 125 combat engagements on the front. The situation remains most intense in the Pokrovsk direction, where 35 enemy attacks have already been recorded. In particular, Ukrainian military personnel demonstrated how they destroy occupiers in Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. Fighting is taking place in the residential areas of the city.
Furthermore, Russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk in the Donetsk region. As a result of the fighting, some positions were destroyed.
Meanwhile, nearly 200 attacks took place on the front during the New Year, with the Armed Forces of Ukraine halting 57 Russian assaults near 16 settlements in the Pokrovsk direction.
