In the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the situation regarding the spread of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza is becoming critical. As a result, educational institutions are being forced to close.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing the Center for National Resistance (CNR).
According to the information source, at least 15 educational institutions in Donetsk have fully transitioned to remote learning due to widespread illness among students. Additionally, 11 schools have had to suspend their educational activities.
A similar situation is occurring in the occupied Luhansk region. There, due to a sharp increase in illness, the educational process has been halted in 10 schools, as well as in more than 120 classes across 45 schools. Local residents report that children are returning home from school with coughs, sore throats, and persistent fevers.
However, the situation is even more critical. There is a severe shortage of qualified medical personnel in the occupied territories, as most doctors have left for areas controlled by Ukraine, refusing to work under occupation. Moreover, hospitals in the territories seized by Russia lack the necessary documentation, and the quality of available medications is questionable.
"This situation is a clear example of how the occupying authorities are unable to address the shortage of medical staff and provide children with even basic medical assistance. The occupiers continue to expend vast resources on their aggressive war against Ukraine, leaving the civilian population to fend for themselves," the statement reads.
Recall that in December, the CNR reported that Russians acknowledged the shortage of doctors in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. Even providing housing for specialists from the Russian Federation has not helped the occupiers resolve this issue.
