The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has released a list of geographical objects in the Dnipropetrovsk region proposed for renaming. This was reported by Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko on Telegram, as conveyed by "Vydomo".

These changes are part of the decommunization process aimed at cleansing Ukraine of Soviet and imperial legacy.

The list includes natural landmarks, canals, ravines, railway stations, burial mounds, and other significant objects proposed for renaming.

For instance, the railway station Illarionovo is suggested to be renamed to Yavorytske, the area of Krasny Liman to Mezhove, the ravine Pidunova to Volchyi Yar, and the botanical landmark "Lenin Oak" to Cossack Oak.

The explanatory note of the document states that the list of geographical objects, whose names contain (or may contain) symbols of Russian imperial policy, and the proposals for their renaming have been formed based on information received from the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory and regional state (military) administrations (except for the Donetsk regional state administration, which has not been provided with relevant proposals).
