An accident occurred in Dnipro's heating network, leaving a significant portion of the city without heat. The shutdown affected residents of entire neighborhoods - Prydniprovsk, Sonechny, and also included some houses along Slobozhansky Avenue. This information was reported by "Vidomo" referencing the Dnipro City Council.
According to preliminary data, this involves more than 10,000 consumers, which constitutes a considerable share of the population in the affected areas. The situation necessitated urgent measures to provide heating to residents amid low winter temperatures.
A decision was made to implement a plan to minimize the consequences of the accident and connect the residential buildings in the Sonechny neighborhood and parts of Slobozhansky Avenue to a backup boiler house.
The process of switching homes to alternative heating requires precise and coordinated efforts from specialists, and city services are making every effort to complete it as quickly as possible.
Deputy Mayor Igor Makovtsev commented on the situation, stating that by the end of the evening on January 20, heat was expected to return to the homes in the Sonechny neighborhood and the specified sections of Slobozhansky Avenue.
This announcement offers hope to the residents of these areas; however, the situation in the Prydniprovsk neighborhood appears to be more complex. According to the official, heating in this residential area is planned to be restored within three days.
