"In the coming weeks": Trump announced a meeting with Starmer.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is willing to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Their meeting is expected to take place in the coming weeks.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing CNN.

On Friday, Trump informed journalists at the White House that he recently had a phone conversation with the British Prime Minister.

"He requested a meeting, and I agreed to it. We will have a friendly meeting. A lot of good things are happening," the U.S. President said.

He added that Starmer would like to come to the States "either next week or the week after." Trump also reiterated that the meeting was arranged at the Prime Minister's request and he is unsure what Starmer hopes to discuss.

CNN clarifies that this comes after Trump announced the introduction of "mirror" tariffs against all U.S. trading partners without exceptions.

It is worth noting that Western media report that Trump has only unveiled his plan to raise U.S. tariffs in accordance with the tax rates that other countries impose on imports from the U.S.

"For the sake of fairness, I decided to impose a reciprocal tariff. It's fair for everyone. No other country can complain," Trump stated.

He emphasized that the tariffs will be exactly the same as those other countries impose on American goods.
