The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury concluded with the Ukrainian winning by judges' decision.
Watch the RBC-Ukraine video featuring the best moments of the mega-fight between the heavyweight stars.
It’s worth noting that Oleksandr defeated Tyson and became the world champion in the heavyweight division according to the WBC, WBA, and WBO. The rematch, held at the packed Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, lasted all 12 rounds. The Ukrainian once again won by judges' decision, but this time it was unanimous - three times 116:112.
After the fight, Oleksandr raised a unique artifact - the saber of the great Ukrainian Hetman Ivan Mazepa, dated to the 17th century.
Inscribed on the blade is the phrase "I place all my hope in you, Mother of God, protect me under your cover!" On the right side of the blade are two candles, two angels, as well as the crowned Virgin Mary with a child and a branch. This depiction is known as "The Unfading Flower".

The rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will go down in history not only for its sporting significance but also for the numerous details that made this event unique.
In particular, both athletes received record amounts for the fight. Usyk reportedly earned around $114 million, while Fury made $76 million. Thus, the Ukrainian champion set a new personal record for earnings, as he only received "just" $38 million for the first fight.
Before the bout, the Ukrainian boxer was prohibited from kissing his cross during the fight. This was not due to religious reasons. During the previous fight, Oleksandr had kissed the cross during breaks between rounds, and some boxing fans during the broadcast speculated that our champion was using an inhaler with PED (performance-enhancing drug). Consequently, Usyk faced accusations of doping during the bout.
Of course, both Usyk himself, his team members, and the organizers of the first fight rejected all accusations. However, this time they decided to be cautious to avoid unnecessary scandals, so they ruled that only a straw from a water bottle could touch the boxers' lips .
Interestingly, for the first time in the history of global boxing, a judge based on artificial intelligence monitored this fight to eliminate bias and human errors in scoring. However, the verdict of the AI referee did not affect the official results of the bout, as the head of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al al-Sheikh, stated that the experiment was purely "demonstrative in nature."
It is also notable that the day before the fight, Usyk met with Ukrainian soldiers who came to support the champion in Riyadh.
Furthermore, on the same day, the athlete spoke with Volodymyr Zelensky. During the phone call, the President of Ukraine asked Oleksandr not to beat Fury too hard, as the United Kingdom is our partner and helps us in the fight against the Russian aggressor.
