The Russian army launched a drone attack on Ukraine on the night of January 4. The Russians deployed 81 unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
The occupiers launched drones from four directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
As of 09:00, the downing of 34 strike drones and other types of UAVs has been confirmed. Air defense operated in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.
Due to active resistance from the Defense Forces, 47 enemy imitation drones were locally lost.
According to the Air Forces of Ukraine, the downed UAVs caused damage in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, with private houses being affected.
Russia continues its night airstrikes on Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, the enemy has been launching drones every night across Ukraine. As President Volodymyr Zelensky noted, in just the first three days of the new year, the Russian army used more than 300 strike drones and around 20 missiles, including ballistic ones.
On New Year's Eve, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 111 drones. In Kyiv, as a result of the attack, two people lost their lives. Rescue workers completed debris removal in the capital on January 3 following the enemy's strike.
