Ukrainians are significantly more likely to speak positively about the impact of American foreign policy than the average respondents from 35 countries worldwide. Ukraine ranks among the top 5 optimistic countries regarding the influence of the USA (following Kosovo, India, the Philippines, and Colombia).
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing data from a survey conducted by Gallup International.
According to the survey, 51% of Ukrainians rated the impact of American foreign policy on Ukraine positively, while 26% rated it negatively. An additional 12% disagreed that it has any effect, and 11% were undecided.
The majority of Ukrainians (66%) believe that the USA will remain a superpower by the year 2030. Conversely, slightly fewer than a quarter of respondents hold an opposing view.
Young people aged 18-24 (72%) are more confident about the future of the USA as a superpower, along with respondents from higher income brackets (70%).
Ukrainians are more convinced that the USA will be a global superpower compared to the average respondents from the 35 countries. At the same time, Ukrainian assessments of America's prospects align closely with the opinions of Americans themselves.
The End of Year Survey (EoY) is a global annual survey by Gallup International regarding the future, happiness, and economic expectations of populations in various countries. In 2024, 35,882 respondents were surveyed across 35 countries.
In Ukraine, the EoY survey was conducted by the Sociological Group "Rating" from December 2-5, 2024, involving 1,000 respondents. The margin of error is no more than 3.1%.
As a reminder, according to a survey by KMIS, 5.5% of Ukrainians responded positively to the question about Donald Trump returning to the presidency of the USA, stating it would be very good, 11.3% said it would be quite good, 37.3% felt it would be more good than bad, while 14.7% thought it would be more bad than good.
On the other hand, 3.2% consider Trump's election to be quite bad, and 2.9% view it as very bad.
However, as among many international observers, there remains a certain level of uncertainty regarding what a second Trump presidency might mean for Ukraine and the war: 23.2% responded that they find it difficult to say, and 2% declined to answer the question.
According to a survey by the Razumkov Center, 87% of Ukrainians have a positive attitude towards the USA.
