Ukraine and the European Investment Bank have signed several agreements. These agreements aim to fund the restoration of energy and critical infrastructure.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a statement from Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Today, February 10, Shmyhal met with EIB President Nadia Calvino. It was during this meeting that the agreements to assist Ukraine were made.
According to the Prime Minister, specifically, the European Investment Bank will allocate 16.5 million euros for the restoration of critical infrastructure and the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

"We are grateful to the Bank for its support in restoring infrastructure that has been damaged due to Russian aggression," noted the head of government.
At the same time, Shmyhal mentioned that during the meeting with Calvino, they specifically discussed funding within the framework of their bilateral cooperation.
"Overall, the EIB's project portfolio in Ukraine is one of the largest and consists of 25 projects totaling 4.95 billion euros. These are projects in the areas of transport, social infrastructure, and energy," he explained.
The Prime Minister also highlighted other urgent priorities for cooperation that require further investments, including:
Shmyhal concluded that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the EIB has mobilized over 2 billion euros to support Ukraine.
"Thank you for your significant contribution to strengthening the resilience and development of our state," he said.
As a result of the full-scale invasion by Russian occupiers, there are damages to critical infrastructure across Ukraine. This particularly affects the energy sector, as the Russians continuously attempt to inflict damage on such facilities during their missile strikes and drone attacks.
It should be noted that in June 2024, it was announced that the European Investment Bank would provide Ukraine with 100 million euros for the restoration and modernization of social infrastructure.
In its material, RBK-Ukraine detailed how the allocated funds will be used.
