A video has surfaced online showing Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov interacting with Ukrainian prisoners of war. In light of this, Ukraine has reached out to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, Arthur Dobroserdov, on Facebook.
According to him, there is a high likelihood that the prisoners of war Kadyrov is speaking with may be located in the Chechen Republic. Additionally, there is confirmation that only a portion of the defenders captured in the video are currently in captivity.
"However, regarding the 18 defenders of Ukraine mentioned in the material, no official confirmation has yet been received through the Central Agency of the International Committee of the Red Cross," Dobroserdov clarified.
He emphasized that he has sent a letter to the ICRC to verify the accuracy of the information regarding the presence of these 18 individuals in Russian-controlled territory.
It is noteworthy that on December 4, Kadyrov released a video in which he interacts with Ukrainian prisoners of war who are allegedly in Grozny.
In the video, the prisoners of war call for their return from Russian captivity.
Recently, the Secretary of the Coordination Headquarters, Dmitry Usov, emphasized that Russia only wishes to return its soldiers who were captured in the Kursk region.
