President Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that negotiations to end the war will take place. In his view, the discussions should involve the USA, Ukraine, and European countries.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing an interview with the head of state on the Fox News channel.
During the broadcast, he stated that "Ukraine wants peace, and negotiations will happen regardless."
"I only mentioned that we are talking about a genuine and lasting peace, and we need to be strong at the negotiating table. Ukraine, the USA, and Europe must be present at the table, and Ukraine will approach the negotiations from a position of strength," Zelensky said.
President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Washington for a visit on February 28. He held talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
During the leaders' dialogue, an emotional dispute arose regarding the prospects of the peace process.
As a result of the incident, the planned signing of an agreement on rare earth metals did not take place, and the Ukrainian leader promptly left the White House.
On Fox News, Zelensky also expressed his readiness to sign a minerals agreement between the states and emphasized that this would be the first step toward security guarantees. According to him, the timing of the signing will depend on the USA.
