The Ukrainian side does not intend to hold talks with representatives of Russia at the Munich Security Conference. The possibility of a meeting between representatives of Kyiv and Moscow was previously announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the advisor to the President of Ukraine on communications, Dmytro Litvin, during a conversation with journalists.
"The Ukrainian position remains unchanged. Ukraine must first talk to America. Europe should be a participant in any serious discussions for true and lasting peace," the official said.
He noted that only a coordinated common position "should be on the table for talks with the Russians."
"One does not meet with the Russians at an empty table. Right now, there is nothing on the table. There are no discussions with the Russians expected in Munich," Litvin emphasized.
Recall that on the evening of February 13, U.S. President Trump stated at a press conference that on February 14, a meeting of representatives from Ukraine, Russia, and the United States will take place in Munich during the security conference.
According to the American president, "there will be high-ranking officials from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States" at this event.
It is also worth noting that a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Vice President JD Vance was previously announced to take place on the sidelines of the conference in Munich.
Additionally, on February 10, Western media reported that while Zelensky will visit Munich, negotiations will take place in the corridors.
