Турция снова инициирует проведение мирных переговоров между Украиной и Россией, сообщает Reuters.

The head of Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, will reiterate Ankara's proposal to conduct peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. This is expected to take place tomorrow, March 2, during a meeting of European leaders in London.

This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Reuters.

According to a diplomatic source, Fidan will inform European leaders about Turkey's efforts to seek a "just and lasting peace" in Ukraine, which is currently experiencing war. He also reaffirmed Ankara's commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Fidan is expected to "emphasize that Turkey, which facilitated direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in March 2022, is ready to take on this role in the upcoming period." Additionally, he will note that all parties should jointly focus on long-term regional security and stability, as well as economic prosperity during the negotiations.

Reuters reminded that Turkey, which has repeatedly called for a ceasefire since 2024, welcomed the U.S. initiative to end the war, which was disrupted by a public dispute between the presidents of Ukraine and the U.S. on Friday in Washington.

Recall that recently Bloomberg reported that Turkey could send its military to Ukraine. However, Ankara will not participate in any peacekeeping mission unless it is involved in all consultations and preparations for its formation.

Earlier, RBK-Ukraine reported that Turkish companies will assist in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The country has already submitted reconstruction projects to Turkey, which are planned for 2025, and tenders for the projects will be announced in April-May.
