U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will likely speak with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. He reminded everyone of their positive relationship.

While discussing his plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky next week, Trump added that he will "probably" talk with Vladimir Putin as well.

"President Putin and I have always had a good relationship," he remarked.

Trump reiterated that if he had been the U.S. president, the war in Ukraine would never have occurred.

"I wish for this war to end primarily because so many people are dying. Millions of people are losing their lives in combat. I want this to end for humanitarian reasons. What is happening is terrible. If I were president, this would have never happened," he concluded.

Trump and Zelensky Meeting

U.S. President Donald Trump may hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The discussions are likely to take place in Washington.

Additionally, the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, announced on February 7 that they are expecting the U.S. special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Kurt Volker, to visit Ukraine in February. As previously reported by RBK-Ukraine, Volker may arrive in Ukraine on February 20.
