U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the war in Ukraine could have been resolved several years ago. According to him, "civilization is dying."
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Trump's press conference at the White House.
"I am upset by what has been happening for three years. If I were president, this would not have started. I watch as people are dying; such numbers haven't been seen since World War II. Even if any person without negotiation skills had taken this on, it could have been resolved years ago," Trump said.
According to the U.S. president, "civilization is essentially dying," and a certain agreement could have been reached a long time ago.
Trump believes that the war could have been resolved without any territorial losses for Ukraine.
"I could reach such an agreement regarding Ukraine that almost all Ukrainian land would remain with Ukraine and there would be almost no destruction. But President Biden made the choice not to do that... And we have come to what we have," the U.S. president noted.
Recall that on February 18 in Saudi Arabia, negotiations between American and Russian delegations took place, lasting 4.5 hours.
After the meeting concluded, U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz reminded that Trump clearly expressed his desire to end the war between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible.
